Homework Policy
“Homework”
I believe in creating authentic learning experiences, at home, where students are allowed to be creative and have fun. Here are some authentic ways you can support their learning at home:
Reading: Enjoy favorite books and explore new titles. Try and read a little bit every night...whatever that looks like in order to promote a love of reading and literate environment outside of school.
Math: Students may come home with math worksheets that have incomplete pages. Feel free to complete these, for fun!! They are great practice of the same concepts we’re learning in school! If they’re returned to school, I will make sure to check them!
Writing: Encourage your child to write in a variety of ways such as by keeping a journal, writing about a topic they’re an expert on, or even making up stories with pretend characters! As they might in their math work, students may also come home with incomplete spelling pages. They are welcome to finish those for fun & extra practice!
Get outside, stay active, and enjoy what each season has to bring!
COMING SOON: In January, we’ll be establishing a homework routine with math activities!
